ORLANDO BLOOM TOO DRUNK TO GREET CARIBBEAN PRIME MINISTER
Orlando Bloom only has hazy memories of the time he met a Caribbean Prime Minister -- because he was so drunk.
Orlando flew with his "Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl" co-star Johnny Depp and the movie's producer Jerry Bruckheimer to meet St Vincent's Prime Minister Keith Mitchell, but the hard-drinking stars ended up disgracing themselves in front of the politician.
The British star laughs, "Jerry was up at the front of the plane with his wife, and me and Johnny and Johnny's friend Sam were at the back of the plane and we sat there and drank red wine.
"I don't know, maybe the altitude had something to do with it, but when we got to the island we just, like, crawled off the plane, staggering."
He continues, "The Prime Minister was there to meet us and he goes, 'Hey man, very pleased to introduce you to St. Vincent.' Johnny's friend crawled past him, didn't even stop, Johnny gave him a huge hug and kept kissing him.
"And there's me trailing after Johnny picking up all the stuff he kept dropping. It was crazy."
It took me roughly an hour and a half today, but I finally was able to sign up for all of my courses for second year, and at the times that I wanted them at. Phew. Last year it took me less than 10 minutes, so after waiting a half hour just to login to the system today I was starting to get pretty worried...
In completely unrelated news, POTC was #2 at the box office last week, and it apparently fell from a less-than-usual amount from the first to the second spot. This week, Pirates was #2 at the box office again, beating, strangely enough, Tomb Raider 2 as well as Seabiscuit (and huh, whaddya know -- Spy Kids 3D was #1). So all in all POTC has been doing splendidly so far. I'm glad. :) My mom hasn't seen the movie yet, so once my work term is over, I'm going to go see it again with her. Will be good. Will be able to confirm definitively how much I actually like this movie. :)
Anyhow...will conclude with desperate plea for comments and/or feedback. Am needy. Don't make me beg. ;)
Like, whoa. Went to sleep last night at 11:00pm -- the earliest I've slept in at least a year, if not more -- and actually woke up feeling relatively well-rested. Mind you, I did still wake up at 4:00am and have to fall asleep again, but still... I'm starting to see why my mom thinks I'm crazy when she wakes up in the "middle of the night" and I haven't even gone to bed yet...
Hmm.
Also, I think I've fixed my blog template problems -- my blog was showing up fine, but my template was entirely missing somehow so I couldn't change anything -- so now I'm gonna go and see if I can't find something to do with this extra little bit of energy I find myself imbued with at the moment. Hmm. Sleep is good...
So here I am on a Friday morning, at work and taking a moment to write here while I'm using the computer. My last day of work is the Tuesday after the long weekend, so I've only got a week and a day left, not counting today. Not sure yet what I'll be doing once I'm finished here. Possibly will find out if I can go back to work at the part-time job I've had from before this one. At any rate, it will be nice to have a bit more time to myself again, I reckon.
Was going to see if anyone was free to do anything this weekend but I think there's some work I have to do for my father -- or, rather, for the firm that he works at. Either way...meh. Oh well. Everyone is always busy anyway...
Have to leave work in the middle of the day on Monday to go home and sign up for my uni courses online. Hopefully I'll get the times I want because having to take a night course would be a bloody pain. I'm more of a night owl than a morning person anyway, but after coming back home from a late class (or a test, for that matter), the last thing you want to do is any more work or studying...
Anyhow, I'm gonna get back to work now for real so I can get some of this stuff done. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Huh, well shiver me timbers! (Er. Sorry.) I actually do have comments on some of the past few entries...just that the commenting code hasn't been working properly...should be fixed now/soon...
Well that just makes my day. :) Here I was, thinking I was being neglected and I log into YACCS and see that people do actually still love me. ;) hehe.
Although it would have been nice if someone had told me the comment counter wasn't working (Chloe did, but she told me so in one of her comments...which I didn't know about until now...)
Anyway, that's it for now. Leave me comments and I'll be sure to check in case the counter isn't working. :)
Finally saw Pirates of the Caribbean yesterday; it was quite enjoyable. I liked it. :) I'm glad it turned out well because I was (duh) really looking forward to it, and it would have been annoying if it really sucked or something after me waiting so long to watch it (I've heard about this movie since forever ago...). It's kind of funny because this is Disney's first PG13-rated movie in the US, and here in Canada it's still just rated G. Heh. Anyway, I think the cast worked well together. And the swords were just cool. :)
So yes. Erm. I don't have much else to say at the mo. Wasn't feeling well for most of today...stomachache...blah. Geez, "stomachache" is a really strange-looking word. And they spelled "Caribbean" wrong on the movie tickets. I guess it's a hard word to remember how to spell -- unless, of course, someone makes a movie called Pirates of the Caribbean and someone else writes about said movie in her blog so freaking often that people start getting sick of it. Heh. :)
1. what are the cotten eye joe song lyrics? Go here and you can read them yourself. :)
Just added a new Lyrics of the Moment category over in the *gestures towards the right* really long Current Conditions box. I thought it only fitting for "Cornflake Girl" to be the inaugural entry, seeing as the lyrics to the song make almost no sense (or, rather, have so many possible interpretations that they make too much sense) and I've always had a fondness for inane babble that isn't really inane. ;)
Anyway. So there you go. Basically that paragraph above just says: there's something new on the right. Check it out.
Well. I finished HP: OotP today, which sucks a bit because I enjoyed it and now there's nothing left to read except for fanfiction -- at least until the 6th book gets written and published, anyway, and who knows when that'll be?
My dilemma of the week (I live a harsh, terrible life... *sarcasm alert*) is that I don't know which LOTR: TTT DVD I'd rather have: the theatrical edition, with cool-sounding extras, or the extended edition, which is, well, extended. My mom said "just buy both" (possibly also with a hint of sarcasm, but in the midst of my excitable babble, I may not have noticed), and I said that I'd thought about it but that my parents would think I'd truly lost my mind.
Which, come to think of it, isn't that much of a loss since they already think I'm going bonkers, so really... But then, should I really buy both editions? To the casual observer, wouldn't that seem like a waste of money/time/effort/space? I'm annoyed. They just couldn't consolidate the two editions into one, making the extra/extended scenes a special feature rather than a whole different set? Sigh.
1. So where are you working? I work for the provincial government in the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. I'm in the central public health laboratory building working as a business office assistant. It's not too bad, so far. I'm in my third week now out of a total of 7 (my last day will be August 5).
2. Where did you come from, where did you go, where did you come from Cotten Eye Joe? *g* Well, I don't know who this Cotton-eyed Joe is, but I came from outer space, then I went into inner space, and eventually got to the planet Earth, to the continent North America, to the lovely country Canada. :)
3. Eww you saw the hulk? How was it? I've seen better movies, I've seen worse movies. It felt long at 2h30, and it did take itself awfully seriously for a comic-book adaptation. I don't know. I don't think I'm a big fan of the movie, but I appreciate the effort that went into making it, anyway. And besides, going to see The Hulk meant I finally got to see the POTC trailer on the big-screen. *grins*
Do I happen to have an mp3 of a song that you want? Check my list here and see if there's anything you need. Send me your e-mail address and state the song you want and I'll send the mp3 to you using YouSendIt.com, SendThisFile.com or SendSpace. :)
